As adults we all have our own set routines, so it is a little difficult for us to make friends so easily. But putting ourselves out there, meeting new people and developing relationships with them is necessary for our emotional and physical wellbeing. Studies have shown that while isolation can significantly increase our risk for premature mortality from the various chronic diseases, socializing can significantly decrease it. Hence it is important for us to socialize because the more we socialize, the happier and healthier we will be, and the more satisfied we will be with our life.
Social hobbies or group hobbies help us do just that. They refer to activities that provide an opportunity for us to socialize with people, to connect with the others who enjoy doing the same things that we do. Moreover, social hobbies are also a great way to learn new skills and make new friends.
