Creative writing refers to any original composition or piece of writing that expresses ideas and thoughts in an innovative (creative) way. It is thus more contemporary and process-oriented than traditional literature. Creative writing has to go beyond the boundaries of the usual academic, journalistic, technical, textbook or even professional writing. And instead of just cold and hard facts, with creative writing you should be able to express feelings and emotions, and step out of reality into a new realm inspired by your own imagination.
