Sexual dysfunction can happen to anyone at any point in life. It can affect any age, though it is more common in those over 40, mainly because it’s often related to other health issues associated with aging. However, sometimes sexual dysfunction can also have causes that aren’t due to underlying disease. These include stress, alcohol and substance abuse, and even relationship factors (such as poor communication and lack of trust). So, treatment of sexual dysfunction is absolutely necessary. And since sex is a physical, psychological and interpersonal event, the treatment should take account of all three aspects too.
