Positivity is the practice of being or tendency to be positive. It means thinking in an optimistic way (despite hurdles and setbacks), looking for solutions (of problems), expecting good results and success, and focusing on making life happier.
When you practice positivity, you have a happy, tolerant, good-natured, and worry-free state of mind, which looks at the bright side of life. With this state of mind:
You tend to not take things too personally.
You learn to enjoy the present, live in the moment.
You do not worry about the future.
You do not dwell too much on the past or fret over difficulties.
You focus on doing and achieving.
Positivity is important because it:
Inspires & motivates you & increases your self esteem.
Gives you better coping skills during hardships & times of stress.
Lowers rates of depression & distress.
Makes you happy & improves your emotional, mental (psychological) & physical well-being.
Improves your cardiovascular health.
Increases your lifespan.
Improves your relationships with family, friends & others (people tend to like & gravitate towards positive people, while keeping a distance from negative people & negative energies)
Here are some steps you can take to help achieve positivity, or live a positive life:
Be mindful — observe your thoughts, do one thing at a time & spend some time everyday with yourself just doing nothing.
Practice gratitude — spend some time regularly thinking of and maybe even writing down at least three things for which you are grateful.
Journal — start a positivity journal in which you keep your gratitude lists, note down inspirational quotes, or even collect images and other memorabilia that make you feel good.
