Personal development / growth refers to various techniques for improving one’s habits, behavior, actions and reactions. It is an ongoing process that starts from an early age, and takes place over the course of an individual’s entire lifespan. It consists of activities that help a person recognize and continually develop himself or herself, to reach his or her full potential. Personal development / growth is mostly shaped by the environment and people you meet and interact with (i.e. parents, friends, teachers, guide, counsellor, coach, mentor, etc.). But, to make the most of it, you need to gain awareness of the process and take the correct steps to improve yourself and your mindset — it won’t work if you don’t work on yourself, and / or refuse to change for the better.
