It has been known to reduce anxiety and stress, increase calmness and physical relaxation, improve psychological balance, reduce chronic pain and help cope with illness, and also enhance the individuals’ enhance overall health and well-being. Meditation also helps you gain awareness and a healthy sense of perspective, by observing and tuning into your feelings, and slowing down your racing thoughts, instead of trying to block them out. It is practiced in numerous religious traditions.
